Bigger Parties, More Live Music

Last year the closing concert of Dahab Festival rocked all of Dahab with great bands including City Band, Uss Wa Laz, Elwaza, Sudan Roots, as well as meditation tunes.  The music was phenomenal and it was without a doubt the BEST party of the year in Dahab. This year all of the concerts will be bigger and better, with more parties and more live music. Check out which parties are happening when on the “whats happening” page! There will be parties happening throughout the week in different locations all with different vibes and a variety of music.

The one night that should NOT be missed is on the 20thof April. This years closing party will have a bigger stage, bigger bar, and bigger location. The concert will start at 16:00 and end late with an intermission at 20:00 where prizes will be given out for diving and watersports. For a full schedule of which bands will be playing this year, see the Festival Info point.

Windsurfing action

Ladies and Gentlemen, Milkmaids and Mermaids we have a very special event lined up for the 2012 Dahab Festival. The Windsurfing this year is planned to be the sickest thing since that day you thought it was a great idea to drink chocolate milk after a run.

We have some extremely talented riders this year that should make the event 10 times better than last year! But, when you combine the skills of the local rippers such as: Phil Richards, Izzy, Mohammed, Salo combined with some very entertaining commentary from Colin ‘Whippy’ Dixon and Steve Flack we should have a very tasty event on our hands.

We have the standard 5 Day Windsurfing Event, with potential for a Double Elimination, and for the night time entertainment we have some super gnarly Tow-In. The boys have been training, boats have been trashed! and all the riders have ridden the Ghost Whip!

It should be a super awesome event with loads of huge moves pulled right in your face – and we cant forget the wipeouts.

See you there!

Bigger and Better!!

Take time out of your busy life, come and join us in DAHAB!

Last year the Local Community and the Bedouin population of Dahab put together a Festival of Culture and Water Sports.  2012 brings the entire community together again to make it an even Bigger and Better Festival!  Long thought of as the quieter, less polished alternative to the likes of Sharm El Sheikh or Hurghada, the Dahab festival sets out to show the world just what it is missing out on.

The Festival will take place from April 14th – April 20th, over the course of the 7 days and 7 nights, the 2012 Dahab Festival invites everyone to come and experience activities such as free diving, kite and wind surfing, as well as taster sessions of yoga and the “healing arts”.

Take this chance to discover the Bedouin culture in South Sinai, the Bedouin would like to invite you to discover their history, culture, and traditions.  On the 16th of April, a Bedouin market selling hand made products, handicrafts, medicinal plants, traditional clothes and much more will be open from 8.am until the late night.   Throughout the week, there will camel rides, rock climbing, canyon discovery, trips to St Katherine’s monastery and Mt Moses and many other excursions organised and guided by Bedouin.

Performances from both local and international bands are going to be playing at a number of live venues throughout the week.  Every day there will be competitions and exhibitions; these will include an underwater photography competition, a buoyancy challenge and there will be home-made kite competitions from recycled materials.

This Festival is for the whole family!
